- 1 V = 0.001 kV
- 1 × 0.001 = 0.001 kV
How to convert volts to kilovolts
1 V = 0.001 kV, so multiply by 0.001 to go from volts to kilovolts. Going the other way, 1 kV = 1,000 V.
kV = V × 0.001 V = kV × 1,000
Worked example:
1 V = 0.001 kV 5 × 0.001 = 0.005 kV
