rank = p ÷ 100 × (N − 1) + 1
Percentile or percentage?
A percentage is a score out of 100; a percentile says what share of the data is at or below a value. Scoring 70% on a test and being at the 70th percentile are different things.

What does the 90th percentile mean?
90% of the values are at or below it.
Why do calculators give different percentiles?
There are several definitions; this one matches Excel's PERCENTILE.INC.
