How to convert liters to kilograms

1 L = 1 kg, so multiply by 1 to go from liters to kilograms. Going the other way, 1 kg = 1 L.

kg = L × 1
L = kg × 1

Worked example:

5 L = 5000 mL
× 1 g/mL (USDA FDC 174158, 1 ml = 1 g) = 5000 g
= 5 kg
