Change the values and press Calculate to work out your own figures.

Convert cups and spoons to grams or ounces (or back) for a chosen ingredient, using USDA weights, or enter your own density.

About amountThe quantity to convert. Fractions such as 3/4 or 1 1/2 are accepted.
About toUnit you want. Swap exchanges the two units.
About ingredientWeight per cup differs by ingredient and by how it is measured (sifted, packed, chopped). Each option names the assumption used; choose Other to enter your own density.
About densityOnly used when the ingredient is Other: the weight per volume of your ingredient.

  1. 1 mg = 0.001 g
  2. ÷ 1 g/mL (USDA FDC 174158, 1 ml = 1 g) = 0.001 mL
  3. = 0.001 mL

How to convert milligrams to milliliters

1 mg = 0.001 mL, so multiply by 0.001 to go from milligrams to milliliters. Going the other way, 1 mL = 1,000 mg.

mL = mg × 0.001
mg = mL × 1,000

Worked example:

5 mg = 0.005 g
÷ 1 g/mL (USDA FDC 174158, 1 ml = 1 g) = 0.005 mL
= 0.005 mL
